Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The purpose of the course is to introduce the basic concepts of project management. In the course, students are exposed on the various PM methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, PM2) and available project management tools in order to practice and gain relevant experience during their practical-laboratory exercise.

After completing the course, the student will have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to:

  • know the basic principles of IT project management and be able to apply project analysis techniques to activities, as well as to prepare a feasibility study.
  • recognize important issues that arise during digital project management processes
  • describe best practices in digital project management processes and follow a digital project management methodology - from project conception to completion.
  • develop work breakdown structures (WBS)
  • use various techniques and methods to estimate project schedules and budgets
  • use various techniques and methods to monitor project progress
  • use techniques to allocate and balance resources
  • monitor the progress of each project using project management software
  • be able to also manage and adjust time and estimate and adjust the cost of a project.
  • finally know the key factors that can lead an IT project to success or failure.

The Project Administration and Management course also helps in the acquisition of the following general skills by those successful in this course:

  • Ability to manage and manage projects and the ability to apply the relevant methodologies to execute a project at the lowest possible cost, in the shortest time with the best possible quality.
  • Ability to search and find the appropriate data and variables required for project management, effective project planning and drafting appropriate schedules and cost optimization.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data and information that have been collected to draw appropriate conclusions regarding the way a project is managed.

LABORATORY

The Laboratory part of the course, through real cases of small and medium-scale projects, will focus on deepening the corresponding theoretical knowledge, project scheduling, costing and resource management during its execution phase.
