Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The overall goal is to introduce students to theoretical as well as practical aspects of intercultural communication by defining and exploring the close relationship between language and culture and the ways language shapes culture identity. More specifically, the course prepares students for global contact by developing an awareness of linguistic, thus cultural diversity issues by drawing on theories from various disciplines: linguistics, education, psychology and sociology. It focuses on the great variety and variations of languages in the world, as well as English as an international language.
